USF Esports & Smash off to a Blazing Hot Start for 2022-23

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis Esports Cougars are excited to announce that the fall season has seen several achievements, upsets, and a 5-0 start for the Smash team. Led by second-year Head Coach Tyler Speigl, the Cougars Esports team started the season winning their first five competitions.

The USF Smash team picked up right where they left off after a fantastic finish to the Spring season. In the Spring, after finishing the Great Lakes Esports Conference regular season with just a 3-5 record, the USF Smash team went on to upset #3 seed Mount Union in the first round. Before being eliminated by the eventual champions Manchester, USF earned the highest finish in the Great Lakes Esports Conference at 3rd place in USF Esports program history.

Picking up right where they left off, the USF Smash team set off the Fall season with a blazing hot 5-0 start and currently sit at 7-2. Picking up wins over Defiance, Bethel, Marion Tech, Franklin, Tiffin, Alma, and Trine.

The final two matches of the regular season will be played on November 3rd at 8:30 PM EST vs Mount Union and on November 5th at 10:00 AM vs Manchester. You can catch the action on the official USF Twitch channel at https://www.twitch.tv/usffw_esports.
