Tourney Time: Saint Francis Softball Battles Taylor in Crossroads League Tournament

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) softball team will travel to Spring Arbor University to compete in the Crossroads League Tournament on April 30.

The Lady Cougars earned the no. 7 seed in the tournament and will face the no. 6 seeded Taylor University Trojans at 4:00 pm at Spring Arbor - the host site for the 2024 Crossroads League Tournament. With a win against the Trojans, Saint Francis would then face either no. 3 Spring Arbor or no. 4 Mount Vernon Nazarene in the double-elimination portion of the bracket on May 1. 

GAME NOTES

  • USF finished the regular season with an overall record of 21-28 and a conference record of 14-22.
  • In their first meeting of the 2024 season, the Cougars and Trojans split on March 27. Taylor took game 1 by a final score of 8-7, with Saint Francis rallying to win game 2 7-2.
  • Taylor defeated Saint Francis 10-2 and 4-3 in their second doubleheader matchup of the season in April.
  • As a team, the Lady Cougars have scored 231 runs so far this season with 208 RBIs. Of their 398 hits this season, USF has had 80 extra-base hits including 59 doubles and 11 homeruns.
