Westendorf Field

The USF Softball Field on the middle east edge of the campus was completed and dedicated in the spring of 2000. The field was renamed "Westendorf Field" in a ceremony on Friday, April 29.

The late Larry Westendorf was inducted into the USF Athletic Hall of Fame in 2005 as a head coach and administrator of USF women's athletics from 1989 through the 1999 season. In three seasons as USF's head softball coach, the Lady Cougars set consecutive records for wins and won the only regular-season conference championship in 1997. In 1998, USF set the school single-season record for wins with 30. Westendorf was also co-head coach of the 1998-99 Lady Cougars basketball team which set a record for wins, finished 33-5 and advanced to the NAIA Division II Championship Game.
