TIGERS BREAK A PAIR OF SCHOOL RECORDS ON THEIR WAY TO A DOMINATE GAME ONE WIN OVER FISHER COLLEGE AND KEPT IT ROLLING FOR A 10-1 WIN OVER SAINT FRANCIS IN GAME TWO

Melbourne, Fla. –

The Dakota Wesleyan softball team put on a hitting clinic on their way to a 21-0 win over Fisher College in game one of the day. The 21 runs and 20 hits broke two school records for DWU as well, with the previous records being set against Dordt back in 2008 with 19 hits and 18 runs. The Tigers jumped out to a 6-0 score after the first inning and would not slow down in the next two innings as they poured in 15 more runs. Jaden Warner and Macy Moore each had a stellar game, both pouring in 4 RBIs apiece. Warner's four RBIs came behind a pair of doubles, one in the first inning and another in the second. Moore turned up the speed with another inside the park homerun after hitting the ball into left field for her first three RBIs and then hit another double into the same spot for her final RBI. Krysten Krcil was one fire on the mound as the starting pitcher. Krcil threw 44 pitches with 36 of them inside the strike zone, as she retired five batters.

Game two saw the Tigers facing against the Cougars of Saint Francis University. The Cougars struck first to take the 1-0 lead leaving a pair of runners stranded. Dakota Wesleyan took over and after a slow start, really started rolling. Deanna Davidson crossed home plate and it was a ripple effect the rest of the way. Alyssa Burke and Reagan Grossi each added two RBIs in the second and third innings to take a 6-1 lead heading into the fourth. Ivy Woolwine pitched all five innings and only allowed two hits as she held off the Cougars sluggers. Going into the bottom of the fourth, DWU put up four runs to make it 10-1. Woolwine would retire one of the last three batters and the Tigers defense handled the rest not allowing Saint Francis to get into scoring position. Dakota Wesleyan picked up two more wins at the Space Coast Games to go along with a pair of records being broken! The records were set back in 2008 against Dordt with 19 hits and 18 runs.
