Keter & Humbert Lead USF at Twilight Invite on Friday
MARION, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's and women's cross country traveled to Indiana Wesleyan University to compete in the Twilight Invitational on Friday, September 6.
The men's team finished the night in 14th place out of 25 schools. The Cougars were led by sophomore Alvin Keter who finished the race in a time of 26:09.0, followed by Hugo Humbert with a time of 26:22.0. Kelvin Sanja Etiang was the next Cougar to cross the finish line at 27:16.3.
The women's team finished the race in seventh place out of 23 teams. USF was led by Victoria Clibon with a 6,000-meter time of 23:09.6, good enough for 12th place. Kiara Bahena finished the race in a time of 25:06.8, followed by Marissa Goodwin with a time of 25:10.7.
"Both men's and women's programs ran well," said Head Coach Moody. "We got an opportunity to see where we stack up against the majority of our conference schools. There were several bright spots throughout both races, but we know there's more work to be done in the weeks to come."
Up next, USF men's and women's cross country will compete in the Mastodon Alumni Open hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, September 20. The Cougars will race at the Mastodon Cross Country Course in Fort Wayne, Ind.
