GOSHEN, Ind. -- In an electrifying women's volleyball matchup, the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) went head-to-head with Goshen College in a thrilling 5-set battle that left fans on the edge of their seats. The Cougars managed to secure a hard-fought victory, ultimately prevailing with a final score of 3-2. This win marked the second time this season that the Cougars emerged victorious over Goshen College, solidifying their dominance in the series.
Paige Fortkamp, the star of the evening, delivered a standout performance for the Cougars. She was a force to be reckoned with, racking up an impressive stat line with a team-leading 24 kills, 27 assists, 2 blocks, 4 digs, and 4 aces. Fortkamp's consistent contributions played a pivotal role in USF's success throughout the match.
Addison Shafer & Alexis Gregory also made significant contributions to the Cougars' triumph. Shafer provided excellent support at the net with 20 kills, while Gregory showcased her defensive prowess with 22 digs & sprinkled in 2 assists. Hannah Sweeney was crucial in the back court with 15 digs, 2 aces, and 4 assists.
Caroline Jones, Ellie Ferris, and Kate McMullen all combined for 23 kills and 4 digs as well.
