LIMA, Ohio -- On Wednesday afternoon, The University of Saint Francis Cougars (16-19, 11-11 Crossroads League) took on the University of Northwest Ohio Racers (17-12, 13-3 Wolverine Hoosier Athletic Conference) losing the game 7-3 in the nonconference matchup.

In the start of the series, Lukas North took the mound to start for the Cougars. The series would start rocky for the Cougars as the Racers would open scoring on a fielder's choice to make it 1-0 in the 1st. The Racers would add onto their lead late off a walk, an error, and 2 sacrifice flies to make it 5-0 in the 4th. The Cougar offense would find a way to start fighting back starting with a Jayden Lepper single in the 5th to make it 5-1. Then Jayden Lepper would score off a wild pitch and Sam Pesa with a sacrifice fly in the 8th to make it 5-3. But the Racer offense would stop the Cougar comeback scoring a 2-run homerun in the 8th making it 7-3. The Cougar offense would stall out after this and fall to the Racers 7-3.

Key statistics for the Cougars include Sam Pesa going 1:2 at the plate and 5 hits overall for the Cougars that resulted in 2 RBI's. Lukas North, Jeriel Santana, Aiden Armitage, Bryce Adams, Cameron Niedens, Perry Stow, & Jose Valdez-Sandoval all were thron to the mound to get some live-at-bats during the nonconference matchup. Between the eight pitchers, 8 hits were given up and 7 runs resulted. In all, the pitching arsenal struck out 5 batters, walked 5 batters, and gave up only one homerun. 

The Cougars next road series will be Friday against Goshen University in Goshen, Indiana with a 1pm first pitch. This series will last Friday & Saturday (April 14 & 15), with both days starting with a 1PM pitch. The address for J.
