Men’s Hoops Upsets No. 7-Ranked Indiana Wesleyan

Evan Lowden entered into the game as a starter replacing Joe Reidy who is out due to injury. The Cougars came out in the first half with an 0-5 lull to the Wildcat fastbreak. A three-pointer from Cushingberry and a lay-in from Evan Lowden tied things back up at 5. The Cougars capitalized off turnovers in the paint from the Wildcats, taking the 15-point lead at the half.

USF came out in the second half with a chip on their shoulder to take down IWU who was undefeated in the Crossroads League until they entered Hutzell Athletic Center. 

Key contributors to the USF upset win fell to Antwaan Cushingberry who led all scoring between both sides with 19 points. Zane Burke tallied 18 points, 3 rebounds, and 2 assists. Ashton Johnson, Brayton Bailey, and Dan McKeeman combined for 31 points and 10 rebounds. Evan Lowden led both sides with 14 rebounds.

The Cougars are now 11-10 overall and 4-7 in conference. USF will travel to Mount Vernon, Ohio to take on the Mount Vernon Nazarene Cougars. Tip-off is set for 7pm in Ariel Arena. USF dropped their last contest with the MVNU Cougars 68-77.
