
Cougars Fall to the Foresters in Road Contest
HUNTINGTON, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's basketball team took a short trip to Huntington, Indiana on Saturday afternoon to face-off with the Huntington University Foresters. The Cougars fell on the road to the Foresters with a 79-69 final. The Cougars are now 7-3 overall and 2-1 in Crossroads League Play.
Junior, Zane Burke tallied his first double-double of the season cashing in on 16 points & 11 rebounds. Freshman, Luke Almodovar chipped in 25 points to the Cougars effort along with 2 assists & 5 rebounds. Joe Reidy entered intot he game off the bench and had 10 points & 4 rebounds as well.
As a team, USF shot 44% from the field, 26.1% from 3-point range, & 86.4% from the free throw line. The Foresters outrebounded USF 39:37, but the ultimate demise fo the Cougars was their 26 turnovers compared to HU's 12. Second chance opportunities were the defeat of USF. The lead changed 7 times int he contest and USF led by 7-points with 13:20 remaining in the 1st half, but were unable to hold onto the lead.
USF will take a short break and will not compete again until December 15th & 16th. The Cougars will play Florida College (Fla.) on Friday December 15th with a 5:30pm tip-off & again Saturday December 16th against Southeastern with a tip-off time to be announced.
