Cougars Down No. 25-Ranked Florida College Falcons

AVE MARIA, Fla. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's basketball team traveled to Ave Maria for a nonconference match-up and December Classic weekend to face off with the No. 25-Ranked Florida College Falcons. The Cougars upset the Falcons with a final of 101-93 for day one of the Classic.

The Cougars took over the Falcons in the first half, leading at the half 50-46 & rode momentum through for an upset style finish. USF had an all-around performance with four Cougs scoring in double-digit figures and shot 50% from the field and 3-point range. 

Branden Northern led the Cougars with 17 assists, a career & season high, while also adding in 5 points, 1 steal, & 9 rebounds for an all-around "team" performance. Charlie Yoder went off finishing the game with 30 points while Freshman Luke Almodovar trailed him chipping in 25. Yoder & Almodovar teamed up for 4 assists, 4 steals, & 6 rebounds. Finally, Aaron Etherington tallied his first season double-double with 13 points & 1 rebounds. 

USF now improves to 8-3 overall. The Cougars will resume the December Classic with a 3pm tip-off tomorrow afternoon against the Southeastern University Fire. The Fire are 6-5 overall currently and 0-0 in their conference play.
