Cougars Improve to .500 in CL Play

MOUNT VERNON, Ohio -- The Cougars traveled to Mount Vernon Nazarene University Wednesday evening for a Crossroads League match-up on the road. USF battled to improve their Crossroads League winning percentage to .500 where they are now 3-3 and 10-6 overall with a 87-77 final over the Ohio Cougars. 

USF led for the entire game and had a 5-point lead at the half. As a team, the Cougars shot 54.8% from the field, 31.8% from 3-point range, and 66.7% from the free throw line. USF out-rebounded MVNU 41:34.

Zane Burke led in overall scoring for USF with 28-points, 9 rebounds, and 2 assists. Branden Northern also recorded a double-double with 13-points and 13 assists. Charlie Yoder was the second leading scorer with 19-points, shooting 53% from the field. Joe Reidy also contributed 12-points, 5 rebounds, 2 steals, and a block.

USF will return to Crossroads League action this Saturday as they play host to the Marian University Knights. Tip-off is set to follow the women's game at 1pm, with a 3pm projected tip-off.
