
Cougars Fall to the Pilots on the Road
MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) Cougars traveled for a CL League match-up Wednesday evening trying to prove they can hang with one of the best in the conference. The Cougars needed this win to solidify a spot for the NAIA National Tournament, Crossroads League Tournament, & some confidence leading into the post season. USF took on the Bethel University Pilots at the Wiekamp Center falling 95-77 to the Pilots.
USF started the game on a high with a 1-point lead, 28-27, at the 5-minute mark. The first half remained tight for USF as they were down one at half gaining momentum heading into the second half. The Pilots started to turn up the pace as they took the lead 55-46 with 14 minutes left to play. USF freshman guard, Luke Almodovar kept on his hot streak scoring 22 points and going 7-for-11 from the field. Isaiah Malone contributed 17 points while grabbing 7 rebounds for the start. Charlie Yoder added 15-points while playing 35 minutes.
The Cougars are back in action this weekend for Crossroads League play this Saturday, February 10th. USF will battle the Indiana Wesleyan University Wildcats at 3:00 PM as they celebrate Senior Day for their only senior, Garrott Ott-Large. Overall, the Cougars are now 12-11 and 5-8 in the conference
