Bio

Walker Russell Jrbegins his first season with the University of Saint Francis men’s basketball programs as an Assistant & Player Development Coach. He works with players daily to hone their skills and improve their overall basketball IQ, utilizing his experiences as a former professional basketball player.

During the offseason, Walker is the head trainer for Potter Sports Group, a basketball agency based in Fort Wayne.  He has prepared multiple clients for NBA Pre-Draft workouts and their careers in the NBA G League and Overseas. Previously, Walker was an Associate Head Coach in the Chinese CBA for the Shenzen Aviators. While in China, Walker coached numerous former NBA players such as Jared Sullinger, Jamaal Franklin, and Marshon Brooks. 

Walker played professionally for ten seasons after graduating from Jacksonville State University in 2006. Walker played in the NBA G League for the Fort Wayne Mad Ants and also played several seasons overseas in countries such as Spain, China, and the Dominican Republic.  Walker received an NBA Call-Up from the Detroit Pistons in 2012.
