Cougars Reign Victorious Labor Day Weekend

CENTERVILLE, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's soccer team is on a hot streak, and have won four of their last five matches. The Cougars defeated Midway in Eaton, Ohio with a 4-0 finial on Monday afternoon (9/4).

The Cougars came out strong with a 1-0 lead at the half from an Alessandro Florencia goal that was unassisted. From there, the Cougars dominated the second half with three more goals that included a brace from Alessandro Florencia with his 56th-minute goal. A goal from Dalton Blankenbaker in the 57th-minute, & a goal from Eduardo Garcia in the 69th-minute put the Eagles to rest. Bernardo Abreu picked up his first points of the season from an assist to Florencia's second goal & Bryan Ramirez and Dalton Blankenbaker also picked up points from assists as well. 

Goalkeeper, Jannik Reiss, picked up his first shut-out of the seadon and made 2 saves in his 90-minute tenure. Reiss is now 4-1 overall on the season in net for the Cougars. USF outshot Midway 22 to 5 & only recorded 2 corners to the Eagles 1. 

USF is now 4-1 overall for a 0.800 winning percentage prior to their next match. The Cougars will be back in action Thursday September 7th on the road against Grace Christian University. Kick-off is set for 5pm at Velting Field in Grand Rapids, Michigan.
