Gomez, Parodi, & Silveira all Record a Brace in 9-1 Victory over Bluffton

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – In a dominating performance on the pitch, the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) Cougars trampled over the Division III Bluffton University Beavers with a resounding 9-1 victory. It was a match that showcased the Cougars' offensive prowess, with goals raining in from all directions.

The scoring frenzy began early in the 8th minute when Luis Miguel Parodi capitalized on a perfectly timed through-ball to slot the ball into the net, giving the Cougars an early lead. Parodi wasn't done yet, as he netted his brace in the 16th minute.

Derek Gomez, making his first-ever appearance for the Cougars, made quite an impression. Gomez's introduction was marked by a goal in the 25th minute, and he wasn't done there. He went on to secure his brace in the 36th minute, doubling the Cougars' lead. USF led 5-0 at the half.

Rodrigo Silveira got in on the action as well, scoring his first goal in the 41st minute, adding to the Beavers' misery. Silveira joined the brace club in the 56th minute, further cementing the Cougars' dominance.

Dominik Borucki, Daniel Eleuterio, & Dalton Blankenbaker also had their hand in executing in the final third with 1-goal a piece. Francisco Moura, Martim Silva, Eleuterio, & Afonso Sergio also highlighted a goal with an assist a piece as well. 

The lone response from the Bluffton University Beavers came in the 64th minute when they managed to break through the Cougars' defense, netting their solitary goal.

In the goalkeeper department, Jannik Reiss and Martin Horvath put on an impressive display. They faced a total of 3 shots on goal, but managed to save all but one, showcasing their remarkable shot-stopping abilities.

With this commanding win, the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) Cougars now boasts a stellar 7-2 overall record. The victory sets the stage for their entry into Crossroads League play this Saturday, where they will face off against the Taylor University Trojans at Turner Stadium in Upland, Indiana. Kick-off is scheduled for 7 pm, and fans can expect another exciting match-up as the Cougars aim to continue their winning streak in league play & begin their "new season."
