Cougars Knocked out of the Post season from the Pilots

MISHAWAKA, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's soccer team traveled to Bethel University (Ind.) to take on the Pilots in the quarterfinal round of the Crossroads League Tournament. The Cougars fell to the Pilots 2-1 and the deciding goal came in the 83rd minute from Piero Sabroso.

USF played Bethel (Ind.) last on October 7th where they tied 1-1 at Bishop John M. D'Arcy stadium. The Cougars led in the first half with an unassisted goal from Guilherme Girotto Franco in the 11th minute, but could not hold the Pilots and gave up a goal in the 38th minute, entering into the half with a 1-goal deadlock.

USF had the upperhand a majority of the game as they were dangerous in the final third, firing off 7 shots on frame (9 shots total) which was much less than the Pilots, but more lethal and promising to end up in the back of the net. Jannik Reiss recorded his final 90-minutes in net for the season recording 9 saves, and allowing 2 goals.

The Cougars will not continue into the post season as they did not qualify for the NAIA National Tournament. Under Mamba Chisoni's inaugural season & leadership, the Cougars finished with a 8-7-4 overall record and were 1-4-4 in the Crossroads League.
