MISHAWAKA, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's soccer team traveled to No. 3 Bethel University for a Crossroads League matchup against the Pilots on Saturday, October 5. The Cougars dropped Saturday's match by a final score of 4-0.
The Cougars created chances early, firing off two shots on goal in the opening seven minutes of action on Saturday. Bethel was able to find the back of the net first at the 9:23 mark to take an early 1-0 lead. The Pilots would score three more times to take a 4-0 advantage at halftime. Facing a tough Bethel defense, USF was unable to put together a rally as the Pilots secured the 4-0 win on Saturday.
As a team, Saint Francis took nine total shots and led in corner kicks with four compared to Bethel's three. Dominik Borucki, Joshua Boschveld and Christian Walter all had a shot on goal. Jannik Reiss collected three saves during 45 minutes of action in goal for the Cougars.
Up next, USF men's soccer (6-6-1, 0-3-1) will return to Bishop John M. D'Arcy Stadium for a home game day against Grace College on Saturday, October 12.
