Tourney Time: Saint Francis Battles Huntington in Crossroads League Quarterfinals

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's soccer team will travel to Huntington University for the Quarterfinal Round of the Crossroads League Men's Soccer tournament on Wednesday, November 6.

The Cougars enter the conference tournament as the No. 8 seed, while the Foresters are the No. 1 seed in the bracket.

GAME NOTES

  • The Cougars finished the regular season with an overall record of 8-8-2 and a conference record of 2-5-2. Saint Francis returns to the conference tournament for the first time since the 2020-21 season. 
  • The Foresters clinched the regular season title after finishing with a record of 12-4-2, 6-2-1. This is Huntington's first regular season conference championship since 1989.
  • USF and HU first met back on October 2 in Huntington, Ind. The Foresters edged the Cougars, taking the match by a final score of 1-0. Alberto Guerrero Gon scored Huntington's lone goal of the match in the 51st minute. 
  • As a team, USF has scored 40 goals this season and is taking 13.4 shots per game. 
  • Mika Leib leads Saint Francis with 37 shots taken, 16 shots on goal and five total assists. 
  • Christian Walter has scored a team-high seven goals this season and currently leads with 15 points. 
  • Toby Lewis leads the Cougars with 34 saves in 675 minutes in goal. Jannik Reiss has 29 saves with a .690 save percentage this season.
