Bio
Gabriel da Silveira Greenfield joins the USF men's soccer staff as goalkeeper coach in the fall of 2024.
Gabriel comes to Fort Wayne after spending the past two seasons as a goalkeeper coach for Huntington University, working first as a graduate assistant with full autonomy over the goalkeepers until he graduated from the MBA program in 2023. Gabrial then joined HY2, a private coaching company, offering private goalkeeping sessions to all age groups.
Originally from Novo Hamburgo, Rio Grande do Sul, Brazil, Gabriel started his soccer career when he was four years old when he joined the Esporte Clube Novo Hamburgo’s club team. He spent most of my career on their grounds, eventually moving up to their academy as we played the regional and state tournaments as well as additional out-of-state tournaments against some of the best academies in Brazil.
After graduating high school in 2015, Gabriel went to college to study Civil Engineering, until he decided to move to the United States to continue his soccer career at the collegiate level. Gabriel spent his first semester of his freshman year at Marygrove College which was located in Detriot, Michigan.
In December 2017, he transferred to Huntington University, where he graduated with a Bachelor's Degree in Accounting and Business Management and a Master of Business Administration. During his time as a Forrester, Gabriel was a member of the men's soccer team that won two conference championships and the first win in program history in the NAIA Men's Soccer Tournament. He also was named both Crossroads League and NAIA National Defensive Player of the Week, the first nationally recognized player of the week in program history, as well as being named First Team All-Conference during his last year as a player.
Gabriel has played at USL2 level with Dayton Dutch Lions FC in 2020 and Fort Wayne FC in 2021. Additionally, over the summer of 2023, he received the opportunity to play for Northern Indiana FC against USL2 teams, and a couple of professional teams such as Columbus Crew 2 and Atlante FC (Mexico). Most recently. Gabriel played for Fort Wayne Sports Club in the Midwest Premier League.
