
Men’s & Women’s Track & Field show some Cougar Pride at Trine
Some highlights from the Lady Cougars included two event runners along with a relay event win. The Lady Cougs placed in the 800m open along with the 1,000m and 4x800m relay.
Freshman Lillee Stewart finished in 2nd place in a time of 2:31 in the 800m for the Cougars. Stewart is from Indianapolis, Ind. and used to compete at Bishop Chatard High School.
Senior Alex Ebetino finished 2nd in the 1,000m in a time of 3:05.72. Ebetino is a hometown native in Fort Wayne Ind, and competed at Bishop Dwenger High School prior to St. Francis.
Finally, the women's 4x800m won their event. The relay members were Alex Ebetino, Kelsey Peck, Mariah Maley, and Yami Diaz. The relay team ran 9:57.79. Peck, Maley, & Diaz are all from Indiana as well.
A few key components from the Men's side included an event win along with a single entry win in the 4x800m relay. The men had one event win on Saturday.
Spencer Carpenter, a sophomore from LaGrange, Ind, won the 1,000m in a time of 2:33.78. Carpenter competed at Westview HS previously.
