Carpenter Leads Cougars with 15th Place Finish at Louisville Classic

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - On Saturday afternoon the University of Saint Francis Cougars headed to Louisville, Kentucky to compete in the Louisville Classic with the men running an 8K and the women running a 5K, and the men finished 32nd out of 47 teams while the women placed 38th out of 45 competing teams. 

Leading the way on the men's side was sophomore Spencer Carpenter, who earned a 15th-place finish out of 412 runners with a time of 25:53.4 finishing second out of all Crossroads League runners behind a fourth-place finish from a Marian runner. 

"The men raced well today and made a step in the right direction!" Head Coach Brendon Moody said of his boys.

Finishing second on the Cougars behind Carpenter was his brother Remington who finished 66th with a time of 26:41.6.

The Cougars resume play next Friday when they travel to South Bend, Indiana to compete in the Bethel University Invite beginning at 2:30 pm.
