Carpenter Brothers Lead the Way at Crossroads League Championship
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - On Friday afternoon the University of Saint Francis Cougars traveled to Shelbyville, Indiana to compete in the 2022 Crossroads League Championship and finished ninth out of 10 teams in the conference.
Leading the way for the Cougars were sophomore Spencer and Remington Carpenter, who led the way for the Cougars like they had for much of the season. Out of 135 runners, Spencer finished 36th with a time of 27:09.4 with the average mile time of 5:27.8. Remington followed with a 54th place finish with a time of 28:01.0 with an average mile time of 5:38.2.
In addition to the Carpenters, also running for the Cougars were senior Devin Schmenk finishing with a time of 29:30.2, sophomore Connor Jackson running a time of 30:05.1, freshman Charlie Fikes following just behind Jackson with a time of 30:25.8, freshman Cole Sikorski at 31:18.7 and sophomore Henry Myers at 32:10.9.
The Cougars will now prepare over the next couple of weeks for the NAIA National Cross Country Championship taking place in Tallahassee, Florida on Friday, November 18. More details to come.
