USF Men's Cross Country Finishes Mastodon Alumni Open in Third Place

FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) men's and women's cross country teams raced to third-place finishes at the 2024 Mastodon Alumni Open hosted by Purdue Fort Wayne on Friday, September 20. 

After delays due to weather, the Cougars finished in third place as a team, led by Alvin Keter with a seventh-place finish and a time of 26:04.2. Hugo Humbert was the next USF runner to cross the finish line, taking 13th with a time of 26:48.3. Freshman Kelvin Sanja Etiang finished the race with a time of 27:01.4 2 for 15th place. 

Head Coach Moody said, "The men's squad ran well this evening. We have areas to improve, but we are making steps in the right direction."

Up next, USF men's and women's cross country will be off until the Ray Bullock Invitational hosted by Taylor University on October 11. The Cougars will then compete in the NAIA Appalachian Challenge on October 25.
