Keter Breaks School Record to Lead Cougars at NAIA Appalachian Challenge

KNOXVILLE, Tenn. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) cross country program had an impressive showing at the NAIA Appalachian Challenge, competing against some of the top competitors in the NAIA on Friday, October 25. 

The USF men's squad finished 10th overall out of 20 total teams on Friday morning. 

Freshman Alvin Keter was the first Cougar to cross the finish line as he recorded the fastest 8K finish in program history at 24:47.7 for 10th place.  Hugo Humbert finished the race in a time of 25:15.5, good enough for 23rd place, and is the second fastest time in program history. Kelvin Sanja Etiang finished Friday morning with a new personal best of 26:28.2. 

"It was a great day to race our final tune-up heading into the conference meet in two weeks!" Head Coach Moody said. "Lots of positive performances to build off of as we move into the championship portion of our season."

Up next, USF men's and women's cross country will compete in the 2024 Crossroads League Championships hosted by Taylor University on Friday, November 8. The men's race is set to begin at 11:30 a.m.
