Keter Takes 44th Place at NAIA National Championship
COLUMBIA, Mo. - Alvin Keter represented the University of Saint Francis (Ind.) at the 2024 NAIA Men's Cross Country National Championship, featuring the top NAIA cross country teams all over the nation fighting to earn the Red Banner on Friday, November 22.
The freshman runner from Eldoret, Kenya, finished 44th out of 326 participants in the 8k race, completing the course in 24:45. Keter's time also set a new record for the fastest finish in USF history, breaking his own previous record by two seconds.
Saint Francis Head Coach Brendon Moody said he is "extremely pleased with how Alvin raced today. When an athlete runs the fastest time they ever have, sets a school record, and finishes higher than any athlete in the history of the program, you can't help but be proud. He entered the race as the 15th fastest person in our conference and finished 8th!"
Keter concluded his season with an all-conference performance at the Crossroads League Championships and his first appearance at the NAIA Cross Country National Championships.
