
Lady Cougars Bounce back for first Win of 2023
FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The Lady Cougars bounced back after their loss against MVNU to take down the Marian Knights Saturday afternoon with a 65-54 final.
This is the Cougars fifth Crossroads League win of the season thus far.
Transitional play along with stellar 3-point percentage range propelled the Cougars over the Trojans in the first half. The Cougars were 58% from the field in the first quarter and 60% from 3-point range. Chloe McKnight, Sophomore from Bedford, Ind., shot 50% from the field and 45% from 3-point range.
Key contributors to the Cougar win included Emily Parrett with 18 points, 6 assists, and 4 rebounds. Chloe McKnight along with Reganne Pate also had their hand in scoring with 15-points a piece and a combined 6 rebounds. The largest lead the Lady Cougars had was by 12-points in the 2nd quarter with 06:55 remaining in the half.
The Cougars are now 9-8 overall and 5-2 in the Crossroads League. The Lady Cougars will be back in action Wednesday January 11th where they'll host Marian University. Tip-off is set for 7PM in Fort Wayne, Ind. Saint Francis is 1-3 in their last four match-ups with the Marian University Knights.
