Cassidy Crawford tallies another Double-Double to help Upset RV Lady Lancers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The USF Lady Cougars upset the RV Lady Lancers of Grace College Saturday afternoon in Hutzell Athletic Center, 64-54. This win for the Lady Cougs has pushed them to 9-8 in the Crossroads League Conference and 5th place overall in standings. 

The Lady Cougars trailed 6-0 to start the first quarter until Emily Parrett went 1:2 at the foul line cutting down the deficit to 5-points. Momentum shifted pretty often within the first two quarters for the Lady Cougars and Lady Lancers, as Cassidy Crawford got busy in the paint for her Senior Day debut. 

Reganne Pate opened up scoring for USF in the second quarter nailing a 3-pointer to ignite the offense for the Lady Cougars. Back-to-back lay-ups from Crawford & Parrett running the court cut the deficit to 3-points with 7:12 remaining the the 2nd. Carley Culberson's spark-plug from the bench shifted the momentum into the Lady Cougars favor, leading the Lady Lancers 28-25 at the half.

Parrett & McKnight got the ball rolling in the 3rd quarter exchanging points for the Lady Cougars. The Lady Cougars led the remainder of the game from their 3-point lead at the half exchanging possessions with the Lady Lancers and causing ⅖ starters to foul out. Reganne Pate & Chloe McKnight showcased clutch shooting for USF shifting momentum completely in favor of the Lady Cougars with 5:34 remaining in the 4th.

Key game changers for the Lady Cougars included Emily Parrett leading overall scoring for USF with 16 points and cashing in on 8 rebounds, 4 assist, and 3 steals. Cassidy Crawford showcased her talents for Senior Day tabbing yet another double-double for her team recording 14 points, 10 rebounds, & 4 assists.Reganne Pate also rounded out scoring in double digits dropping 14 points. 

This win improved USF to 13-14 overall. The Lady Cougars will travel for their last regular season match-up to Mishawaka, Indiana to take on the Bethel University Pilots. Tip-off will begin at 7pm in Goodman Gymnasium. The Lady Cougars are 3-0 in the past three match-ups with the Pilots.
