FORT WAYNE, Indiana -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's basketball team hosted the USF Cougar Classic over the weekend, knocking off both Concordia University Ann Arbor & Cornerstone University in their 2-0 start. The Cougs also hosted Goshen, fellow Crossroads League team for the weekend as well. Game 1, the Cougars defeated the Golden Eagles 78-66 Friday night and then defeated the Cardinals Saturday afternoon with a 70-56 final.

Game leaders from the victory against Cornerstone included Julia Mantyla who had 18 points and Chloe McKnight who had 17 points. The duo also combined for 10 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal. Ally Madden was also in double digit scoring adding in 10 points to the Cougar Offense while Freshman, Taylor Fordyce grabbed 6 boards on the defensive end for an all around performance. McKnight also added in 8 rebounds. 

For game two, the Cougars came out strong against the Cardinals, leading 12-0 in the 1st quarter with some hot transitional offense. The Cougars forced the Cardinals to an early timeout in the 1st and didn't stop there. Key performances came from Chloe McKnight who led in scoring with 15 points and 4 rebounds. Reganne Pate had 12 points and was 75% from 3-point range. Emily Parrett also chipped in 10 points, 3 rebounds, and 4 assists to the Cougar win. 

As a team, USF shot 54.2% from the field & 54.5% from 3-point range. They were also 100% from the free throw line, going 6-for-6. The Cougars will have a much needed week off to rest and reset for their upcoming game on the road this Sunday (11/5). USF will travel to Midway, Kentucky to take on the Midway Eagles in Marshall Gymnasium. Tip-off is set for 1pm eastern time.
