HUNTINGTON, Ind. – USF traveled to Huntington, Indiana yesterday afternoon to take on the Huntington University Foresters for a Crossroads League match-up. It took an extra five minutes for HU to defeat the Cougars, 77-75, Saturday afternoon at Platt Arena. With today's trip, USF is now 8-3 overall and 1-2 in league play.

Ally Madden unleashed for 23 points off the bench to pace the Cougars. Emily Parrett also came off the bench to toss in 16 while Chloe McKnight finished with 10. Isabella Gizzi added 8 points and nabbed a game-best 10 rebounds, just shy of a double-double.

As a team, USF shot 49.1% from the field & 37.5% from 3-point range. Theye were also 68.4% from the free throw line. 

It was a march to the free throw line the rest of the way. The Cougars (8-3, 1-2) cashed in on two free tosses right after Seboe's trip to the line but Melby cashed in the final 2 free throws to secure the game.

The feel of the contest was a two-possession ball game more often than not with an eight-point separation halfway through the third the largest disparity of the day. The lead favored USF, 42-34, but a quick timeout served the hosts well as they rattled off ten straight points which included back-to-back trifectas by Kelham and Hartsough to swing the pendulum HU's way.

By quarter's end, Saint Francis had rebuilt a lead of 50-45. The two previous quarters also belonged to the visitors as HU trailed 18-17 after the first break and 32-30 at halftime.

The loss is the Cougars 2nd straight in the Crossroads League, after falling to Goshen last week. USF will return to CL action after the New Year & travel to Ave Maria, Florida December 15th & 16th to play Ave Maria (Fla.) & Southeastern University. Tip-off December 15th is set for 7pm while tip-off the 16th is set for 2pm.
