Lady Cougs Fall to No. 6-Ranked Knights

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's basketball team played host to the No. 6-Ranked Marian University Knights for a Saturday afternoon Crossroads League match-up. The Lady Cougs fell just short of what really was a one-possession game throughout, falling 62-50.

The Cougars locked things up in the first quarter tied with the Knights 15-15. Chloe McKnight tallied 17-points for the Cougs within the first half, hitting a half-court three just before the half to give the Cougs a chance in the third, trailing by 1-point (29-30). USF took the lead in the third by 1-point, but fell to foul trouble and missed bunny shots in the paint to finish out the game.

McKnight led in overall scoring with 18-points & 5 rebounds. Taylor Fordyce also chimed in a quiet 14-points from the bench along with 2 assists and 4 rebounds. Ally Madden earned the start today, cashing in 8-points & 6 rebounds.

USF is now 10-6 overall and 3-4 in Crossroads League play. The Cougars will return to action this coming week on Wednesday January 17th on the road in Winona Lake, Indiana. USF will take on the Grace College Lancers for a 5:30pm tip-off in Manahan Orthopaedic Capital Center.
