WINONA LAKE, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's basketball team traveled to Grace College to face off against the Lady Lancers on Wednesday night for a Crossroads League match-up. It was a tough battle, but they fell short, 67-61.
After being down 9-points in the first quarter, the Lady Cougs rallied to take a 1-point lead into the half (35-34). Julia Mantyla led the team in scoring in the first half with 11 points. The Lancers went on a run in the third to take the lead going into the last quarter. Despite a great effort the Cougs could not complete the comeback.
Taylor Fordyce led the way with 13 points off the bench as well as a team high 8 rebounds. Reganne Pate followed behind with 12 points of her own. Another key contributor was Chloe McKnight with 9 points and 4 rebounds of her own.
