Cougars Fight in Tight Battle Against Michigan Cougars, but Fall 1-pt. Short

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's basketball team played host to the RV Cougars of Spring Arbor University (Mich.) on Saturday afternoon for a Crossroads League Battle. Despite a back and forth game they fell short, 69-68.

This match-up between the USF Lady Cougs and the Cougars of Spring Arbor was a hard fought game with many lead changes. USF trailed by six at the half, but they worked to make it a 3-point game heading into the fourth quarter. Despite 9 fourth quarter points from Chloe McKnight, the Cougars of Spring Arbor held on to win by 1-point, due to a buzzer beating 3-pointer.

Chloe McKnight took charge with 16 points and 8 rebounds. Reganne Pate was another key player with 13 points as well. Off the bench, Carley Culberson helped provide a spark by going 2-for-3 from deep and Ally Madden also helped clean up the glass with 8 rebounds of her own.

USF is now 10-8 overall and 3-6 in Crossroads League play. The Lady Cougars will play again next Saturday at Hutzell. USF will take on the Taylor Trojans at 1:00 PM EST. Taylor University is currently 9-10 overall and 4-5 in Crossroads League Play.
