FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) Lady Cougars took on the Huntington University Foresters for a Crossroads League match-up on Saturday afternoon. They were dominant in a blowout win with a final score of 91-61.
The Lady Cougs jumped out to an early lead of 21-12 behind 6 points from Emily Parrett and a handful of threes from Chloe McKnight, Reganne Pate, Taylor Fordyce, and Julia Mantyla. They continued their dominance in the second quarter, going into the half with a 46-30 lead. In the third quarter, they went up even more and continued to pile it on. They didn't lose a quarter and finished on top by a margin of 30 points.
Taylor Fordyce and Emily Parrett filled up the stat sheet with near double-doubles. Fordyce had 21 points and 9 rebounds and Parrett had 20 points and 9 rebounds of her own. Another key contributor for the Cougs was Chloe McKnight with 18 points of her own. The Lady Cougs got to spread the love with playing time for a lot of the roster.
USF is now 13-8 overall and 6-6 in Crossroads League play. The Lady Cougars will play again Wednesday February 7th against the Pilots of Bethel University (Ind.) on the road. The Lady Cougs will play at 5:30 PM est. Bethel University (Ind.) is currently 6-16 overall and 1-11 in Crossroads League Play. The last time these two teams matched up was in the Hutzell Athletic Center on January 3rd. The Lady Cougs look to sweep the season series against the Pilots after previously winning 79-50.
