YPSILANTI, Mich. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) Women's Golf Team showcased their determination and skill at the Cardinal Classic, securing a remarkable 3rd place finish among a field of 9 competitive teams. Over three challenging rounds, the Lady Cougars demonstrated steady improvement, leaving their mark on the tournament.

Team Performance:

The Lady Cougars commenced the tournament with a 1st Round score of 355, setting a solid foundation for the competition. Their resilience shone through in the 2nd Round with a score of 358, and they finished strong with a 3rd Round score of 348. Their combined efforts resulted in an overall team score of 1061, just 66 strokes away from the top spot.

Individual Standouts:

Melissa Francis led the charge for the Lady Cougars, posting an 84 in the 1st Round and steadily improving in the subsequent rounds with scores of 83 and 84. Her consistent play resulted in an impressive overall score of 251, earning her a well-deserved 5th place finish out of 44 competitors.

Maci Chamberlin showcased her resilience and determination, steadily improving over the course of the tournament. She concluded with an overall score of 259, securing a commendable 10th place finish.

Ava Warren finished 17th overall with a score of 266 while Abby Pequignot and Tori Straley, finished 35th and 36th overall, respectively, demonstrating their teamwork and competitiveness with scores of 291 and 293.
