Tobin Caps the Night off with a Hattrick & a Win for USF

FORT WAYNE, Ind. – The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's soccer team played host to the Manchester University Spartans Tuesday night. The Lady Cougars dominated possession and play for the full 90-minutes and came away unscathed with a 5-0 final.
Sophomore Courtney Tobin, capped the night off with a hattrick in the 5-0 defeat. The Lady Cougars led at the half 4-0, with their first goal of the match coming in the 7th minute as Courtney Tobin slipped through the Spartan backline to connect with the back of the net. Tobin tallied her second goal in the 17th minute, and then also had a hand in the Haley Roberson header off her corner in the 28th minute. Holly Thomas also connected with the back of the net for the 4th goal of the half due to a Faith Lewis through ball in the 44th minute to close out the half.
The Lady Cougars played a more relaxed approach in the second half and tallied minutes for every able-player on the roster. Sophomore Kayden Tassler started the half in net for the Lady Cougars and saw little to no action due to a solid back line in front of her, recording 22 minutes in net. Anna Lawson came in to finish out the match, recording 23 quiet minutes in net as well and a huge save in the 89th minute to preserve the clean sheet.
The fifth goal of the match came from Tobin in the 68th minute.
Subs off the bench that helped to contribute to the win came from Taylor Keenan, Grace Morris, Zoey Flora, Abby Shinn, Kiersten Parker, & Holly Thomas. Amber Morgan also added to the Cougar win starting in net and recording 45-minutes and 1 save in her 1 shot faced.
The Lady Cougars are now 3-4-2 overall and begin Crossroads League play this coming Saturday at home. USF will play host to the RV Taylor University Trojans for a 2pm kick-off.
