Cougars Draw at Home against Grace College Lancers

FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) Cougars played host to the Grace College Lancers Wednesday evening for a Crossroads League match-up. The Cougars were able to draw with the Lancers 0-0, for 1-point in CL Play, & a clean sheet under Amber Morgan's belt.

The Cougars were able to tally 8 shots in their 90-minutes of play, 4 of which came from Sophomore, Nikki Laidley. Courtney Tobin also had 3 shots as well while Kiersten Parker played key-minutes in tonight's match and rocketed off 1 shot. Amber Morgan protected the clean sheet, facing 7 shots on frame, and saving every single one. The Lancers outshot the Cougars, but were unable to break the Cougar back line and Morgan in net.

The Cougars are now 3-8-3 overall and 0-4-1 in the Crossroads League. Tonight's result moved USF into 9th overall in CL Play, only one spot away from qualifying for the Crossroads League Post season tournament. Saturday's match will commence against the Goshen College Maple Leaves on the road in Goshen, Indiana. The Cougars will take the field at 7pm & can still qualify for playoffs with some help from some of the other CL teams with a win for MVNU over Huntington and a win from Marian over Bethel that may shake some things up for the Cougars.
