Cougars Fall to No. 8-Ranked Knights at Home
FORT WAYNE, Ind. -- The Cougars of Fort Wayne played host to the No. 8-Ranked Marian University Knights this past Saturday at Bishop John M. D'Arcy Stadium. Unfortunately, USF fell to the Knights 3-0 in regulation.
The Cougars and Knights faced a weather delay in the match, but were able to conclude the full 90-minutes. USF played 14 players in the match, with 6 of those players recording 90-minutes coming from Amber Morgan, Faith Lewis, Grace Hein, Haley Roberson, Abby Wozny, & Ava Slater. The Knights rocketed off 17 total shots opposed to the Cougars 6, and Amber Morgan made 8 saves on 11 shots on frame, allowing 3 goals. Evelyn Harkenrider & Grace Hein both tallied 2 shots a piece while Kiersten Parker & & Carlee Biddle roudned out the final 2 shots for the Cougars.
USF will return on the road tongiht at No. 2-Ranked Spring Arbor University (Mich.) at the Cougar Soccer Complex in Spring Arbor, Michigan. Spring Arbor is the defending NAIA National Tournament Champions of the 2022 season. Kick-off is set for 7pm for the Michigan Cougars Senior Night. Overall, USF is 3-9-4 & 0-5-2 in CL Play, placing them in 9th in CL standings.
