FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's soccer team earned a 1-0 victory over the visiting Huntington University Foresters on Wednesday, October 2.
Saint Francis was able to create early chances, just missing the back of the net during the opening six minutes of action. USF and Huntington were in a scoreless tie until Haley Roberson netted her fifth goal of the season in the 68th minute, assisted by Courtney Tobin to give the Cougars the 1-0 lead. The Saint Francis defense held off the Foresters, not allowing a shot in the remaining 22 minutes of Wednesday night's game as USF secured the shutout.
As a team, the Cougars outshot the Foresters 11-6, with eight of USF's shots landing on goal. Tobin led with five shots on goal on Wednesday night, while Carlee Biddle added two. Freshman goalkeeper Rachel Bova finished the night with a clean sheet after collecting four saves.
