Cougars Take 3rd Place at Patty Lydic Invitational
FORT WAYNE, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) track and field teams opened the new year at the Rob and Patty Lydic Invitational, hosted by Ohio Northern University, on Friday, January 17.
The Saint Francis women's team finished the meet in third place with 70 team points. Five first-place finishes and two meet records highlighted the meet for the Cougars.
Sophomore Kiara Bahena took first place in the women's 1-mile run with a personal best time of 5:19.76, setting a new Rob and Patty Lydic Invitational record. The 4x400m relay team consisting of Bahena, Rileigh Baumer, Lily Kissner, and Lindy Wood crossed the finish line with a time of 4:18.54 for first place.
Victoria Clibon won the women's 800m with a time of 2:29.54. Clibon also took second place in the 1 mile run (5:23.96).
A new meet record was set in the 400m by senior Mariah Maley after she bested the competition with a time of 1:02.67.
