
Records Fall for USF at Jud Logan Light Giver Open
ASHLAND, Ohio - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) indoor track and field teams competed at the Jud Logan Light Giver Open hosted by Ashland University on February 7-8.
The Cougars competed against over 30 teams on Friday and Saturday, achieving three new school records and several top-10 marks.
Lea Kunstmann set a new USF school record in the 3,000m run, finishing with an NAIA A Standard time of 9:52.04. Her time is currently the seventh-best in the NAIA this season.
The women's distance medley relay team, consisting of Kiara Bahena, Rileigh Baumer, Mariah Maley, and Kunstmann, set a new school record and finished third overall with a time of 12:06.88, achieving the NAIA A Standard.
Hannah Boersema competed in the pentathlon, earning a total of 2,515 points. She tied the school record in the high jump with a mark of 1.47 meters (4 feet 9.75 inches). Boersema also achieved new top-10 marks at USF in both the 60-meter hurdles, finishing with a time of 10.26 seconds, and in the long jump, with a distance of 4.48 meters (14 feet 8.5 inches).
Up next, USF indoor track and field will compete at the 2025 Crossroads League Championships hosted by Taylor University on February 14-15.
