Cougars show out at Don Kleinow Invite
ADRIAN, Mich. -- The University of Saint Francis Outdoor Track & Field teams both traveled to Adrian, Michigan for the Don Kleinow Invitational, hosted by Siena Heights University. Overall, both teams had a good showing after having Easter weekend off.
The women had a great day at Siena Heights with 3 event wins and 2 event runner ups. Some key highlights for the Women's side included, Evie Miller, who took home the victory in the 1500m in a new school record time of 4:35.11. This is good for an NAIA A Standard. Miller also won the 800m in a school record time of 2:18.11.
Alex Ebetino also led the women's 5k from start to finish in a time of 17:44.24. She was joined by teammates Ella Dubbs, Kayla Quimby, Lindy Wood, and Anna Strong who all ran excellent races. Hannah Boersema continued her impressive Freshman season with a new personal record throw in the javelin of 38.47m to place 2nd overall.
Finally, Mariah Maley placed 2nd in the 400h in a time of 1:07.68. This was just .25 seconds off her personal record.
The Cougar men were led by a 6th place finish in the 400h by senior Braden Melchi. Melchi finished off the day well.
