
Cougars GET IT DONE at Crossroads League Championship
MARION, Ind. -- The USF Track & Field teams traveled back to Marion, Indiana to compete in the 2nd and Final Day of the Crossroads League Championship. The Cougars were electric in their delivery during the meet and had numerous records set, personal records conquered, and set multiple NAIA "A" Standards for their post season Nationals Meet qualifications. The tremendous weekend resulted in many broken records for many of the teams competing as well.

Men's 4x800m -- Spring Arbor 7:30.01 (top four finishers broke meet record, and as of this writing, they are the top four times in the NAIA this year)

Decathlon -- Elisha Flemming (Bethel) 6,524 (and he now has the top THREE marks in that event in meet history)

Marian's men win for the eighth time in nine meets/10 years and with the highest winning score since 2016

IWU is second for the fourth time in eight meets/nine years (and it's their 29th top-two finish in 48 meets since they joined the league)

MVNU's third-place men's finish and 93½ team points for the men are both program records; sixth time in seven years they've had more points than the year before

Taylor finishes in the top four for the 27th time in 28 years

SAU men jumped four spots from last year to this year

Marian's third straight title and third straight sweep of both titles; last time the host swept was IWU in 2007

IWU finishes exactly second for the third straight meet; in the top two for the ninth straight meet; in the top three for the 22nd straight meet

Taylor finishes third for the second year in a row; it's the sixth time in the last seven meets that those three schools have been top three in some order

Grace ties its program-record best finish of fourth, set in 2000 and 2021

USF ties its program-record best finish of sixth, set in 2011 and 2022

Huntington almost doubled its point total from last year

Goshen tripled its point total from last year (and scored more points than it did from 2019-22 combined)
Highlighting the Championship for USF was Hannah Boersema, Evie Miller, Alex Ebetino, & Mariah Maley. Boersema dominated in the javelin with a 38.31m throw. Evie Miller was named the Most Outstanding Female Track Athlete for the Crossroads League for her efforts in the 10k and 1500m! Alex Ebetino (5k) & Mariah Maley (400m hurdles) punched their tickets to the NAIA Outdoor National Championship with the times they ran. The Cougars placed 4 in the COnference League Championships in 5 different events.
