
Rauwerda Crowned National Champion; Boersema Earns All-American Honors at NAIA Outdoor National Championships
MARION, Ind. - The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) was well represented at the 2025 NAIA Outdoor Track & Field National Championships held at IWU Track and Field Complex in Marion, Ind., on May 21-23.
A National Champion and an All-American performance highlighted the National Championship meet for the Cougars.
Saint Francis graduate student Joey Rauwerda won the men's pole vault by clearing a height of 5.05m (16'6.75"), outperforming a field of 18 competitors. Rauwerda became USF's first track and field NAIA National Champion since 2011.
In the women's javelin, Hannah Boersema earned All-American honors by finishing in fourth place with a throw of 43.00 m (141' 1").
Freshman Hugo Humbert qualified for the men's 3,000-meter steeplechase finals and finished in 12th place overall, crossing the finish line with a time of 9:20.36
Benjamin Marano concluded his junior season in the 400m hurdles prelims on Wednesday with a time of 54.09.
