
Lady Cougs Look to Reset after dropping 2 matches in Illinois
PALOS HEIGHTS, Ill. – The University of Saint Francis (Ind.) women's volleyball team dropped their 2 games in Palos Heights, Illinois Friday evening to Trinity Christian in 5 sets & William Woods (MO) in 5 sets.
In match one, the Lady Cougars tallied 47 kills over 5 sets & had exceptional play at the net from Addison Shafer & Kate McMullen (4 blocks). The Cougars won sets one and three, but were unable to rally to win set 5 in 15. Addison Shafer played in all five sets and recorded 13 kills & 3 block assists and has been nominated for the Crossroads League Attacker of the week. Jo Delsing also stepped up huge for the Lady Cougars and has been nominated as Crossroads League Setter of the Week along with Alexis Gregory being nominated as Defender of the Week for the CL tallying 15 digs and 2 service aces.
The Lady Cougars also dropped match two on Friday to William Woods (MO) in five (still waiting on stats). USF will look to rest & reset for their upcoming match on the road in Sioux City Iowa. The Lady Cougs will travel to the United Sports Academy Labor Day Classic where they'll compete against Briar Cliff (IA) September 1st for a 10am first serve (Court 1). USF will compete again on Friday against Morningside for a 9pm first serve also taking place on Court 1. They will then close out the weekend on Saturday (9/2) facing off with College of Saint Mary (NE) at 2pm and Mayville State at 4pm (Court 4).
