
Ebetino leads the way with 1st Place Finish at Jenna Strong Invite
WILMINGTON, Ohio -- The University to Saint Francis (Ind.) women's cross country team traveled to Wilmington, Ohio, Friday afternoon to compete in the Jenna Strong Invitational. Overall, the team finished 3rd out of 29 teams & Alex Ebetino led the way with a first place individual finish at the Invite.
Out of 29 teams, the Cougars placed 3rd overall with exceptional finishes from Ebetino & Victoria Clibon. Ebetino finished with a 18:10.42 in the 5k, while Victoria Clibon finished 3rd overall with a 19:04.05 finish. Kiara Bahena welcomed herslef back graciously with a 35th finish overall with a 20:36.75 time. Lindy Wood finished in 79th place with a 21:35.87 time while Yami Diaz, Lily Kissner, & Anna Strong all finished in 145th, 147th, and 151st overall with a 12-second difference in their 23-minute timed finishes. Hannah Hawkins also finished in 162nd and still within a 23-minute finish time.
With over 29 teams, and 240 competitors, the Cougars are setting themselves out to have a very impressive Crossroads League Championships run. Head Coach Brendon Moody stated, "Alex raced with a lot of confidence today. She was patient before taking over the lead. Victoria Clibon showed some grit as she worked herself into a 3rd place position. We have to find a way as a team to close down the gap between Clibon and our 3-4-5 runners."
The Cougars will compete again this Friday October 20th in East Lansing, Michigan. The team will take part in the East Michigan Invitational for their last meet before the Crossroads League Championships on November 3rd.
